Two big rivalries ready to face each other very soon. In an effort to aid teams in preparing for the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup in Australia, the Asia Cup tournament will be played in a T20 format.
The Covid-19 pandemic caused the event to be postponed from its original 2020 date.
India won the 2018 Asia Cup after defeating Bangladesh in the championship match. They are the current champions. On August 28, Pakistan will play India at the 2022 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.
Details indicate that the competition would last from August 27 through September 11.
Since the Men in Green’s 10-wicket victory at the 2021 T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Pakistan and India haven’t played each other in a competitive match.
The six-team competition will include India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
On August 21, the qualifying rounds for the event will get under way, with Kuwait, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates vying for the final berth.
Two groups of the six teams have been created, with Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh placed together. In the meanwhile, Pakistan, India, and the Qualifier will be placed in the other group.
