Ramos will leave Real Madrid

Sergio Ramos will leave after 16 years with Real Madrid.

Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos is set to leave the club on Thursday.

La Liga have confirmed that the 35 years old will be honored with a farewell, whose agreement will going to be expires at the end of the month.

This would end the defender’s 16 year connection with Los Blancos.

Ramos was reportedly ready to sign an extension to his contract, but negotiations have resulted in this.

With the experienced center back expected to sign a two year deal at the Bernabeu, Madrid would prefer a shorter option.

In 2020-21 Ramos made only 15 La Liga appearances, giving potential aspirant very little chance to sign.

Lacking form and fitness, he was left out of Spain’s squad for the 2020 Euros, with hamstring, calf and knee injuries disrupting his season.

Ramos came to the Bernabeu from Sevilla in 2005 when he inherited Fernando Hierro’s number four shirt at the age of 19.

During one of the club’s brightest decades, he won five La Liga titles and two Copa del Rey titles, picking up four Champions League trophies, including La Desima, the club’s historic tenth title.

He has won four FIFA World Cups, three European Super Cups and four Spanish Super Cups.
