Pakistan get start their T20 World Cup campaign in style. First beating arch rivals by 10 wickets than beat New Zealand by 5 wickets. It’s 2nd consecutive win for the green side in T20 World Cup 2021.
Pakistan is lucky enough to won tosses of both their openers. After winning the toss against New Zealand, Pakistan opt to bowl first as they do earlier against mighty rivals.
On the tricky track where ball skits and not came to the bat easily, the decision felt right when the Haris Rauf bowled out Martin Guptil on 36 on the board.
Things not stabilized after this New Zealand all out on just 135 runs in their 20 overs quota.
Pakistan start the batting with some confidence built in the previous game. But unfortunately, the skipper trapped early in the final over of the powerplay while only 28 runs on the board. On the other hand in form wicket keeper batter Muhammad Rizwan continue his dream form. Fakhar stay was short and he scored just 11 runs on 17 balls.
Professor Muhammad Hafeez started his innings with bang and scores a stunner at extra cover an inside out shot for six. On the very next over, he repeated the procedure but this time he danced down the ground and timed it beautifully past wide long-off, or so he thought. But Conway made up so much ground to his left and leapt into the air, catching it on his left side at full stretch. Glorious from the Kiwi, and New Zealand are properly into this effort. Professor gone and Convay’s catch was most probably the catch of the tournament so far.
After that Rizwan and Imad cut short their innings and the new pair of Shoaib Malik and Asif Ali joined the crease who successfully fulfilled the target in 19th over of the game. Asif Ali gloriously attack the Kiwi’s front line bowlers and Shoaib Malik also joins him and score 13 runs in 18th over of the game to make things quite comfortable for the United’s batter later. In 19th over Pakistan need just 9 runs to win the match and Asif Ali do his job quite comfortably.
