Giroud’s brace took France into easy victory against Bulgaria

France took a 3-0 victory over Bulgaria in their last warm-up match before Euro 2021.
A blown overhead kick by Antoine Griezmann gave the world champions the lead just before the half-hour mark and later on Olivier Giroud replaced the job with two close-range finishes.
But what would later dominate the thoughts of coach Didier Deschamps In is Benzema’s loss in what appeared to be a thigh problem in the first half.

Unfortunately for the Bulgarian goalkeeper, there was soon nothing he could do in the face of an acrobatic effort from Griezmann, which took Ivaylo Chochev up a notch before hitting the back of the net.
Given the low-stakes nature of fixture, it was not surprising that France’s supremacy led to understandable contentment, and they were given a massive release while Birsent Karagaren was out in the open after finding a gap in the area.

However, the win was efficiently secured eight minutes before time when Giroud made a mark into the forward position from Benjamin Pavard’s tempting cross.
